The Mercer County Titans baseball team (20-15) advanced in the 12th region tournament with a 3-0 win over the Wayne County Cardinals  (19-14) on Monday, May 25.  The tournament was originally scheduled to take place at Rockcastle County, but due to the weather was relocated to Casey County, which has a turf field.

The game was a defensive battle containing only eight hits. Senior Carter Devine had two hits and scored two runs. Senior Ayden Stephens pitched all seven innings and gave up three hits, zero errors, zero runs, and struck out eight batters.

The Cardinals led off in the top of the first inning, and Stephens struck out the first batter. Wayne County grounded out to senior Jackson Doughty at shortstop and sophomore Ted Gagnon at third base for the other two outs. Devine led off for Mercer and hit a double to left field. Stephens followed up with a line drive to center field to put the Titans up one run, 1-0.
