Sylvester McCrystal

Sylvester Arthur McCrystal, 95, of Lexington, widower of Marie Bradley McCrystal,  died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012.  

He spent the first half of his life in Rose Hill and Harrodsburg as a farmer and carpenter.  He also served in the Kentucky National Guard during WWII.  He retired from the University of Kentucky Medical Center Post Office.  He worked at Keeneland for 19 years during racing meets.  He was a member and usher at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy McCrystal of Lexington and Ovie Mae James of Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild.
