William Lewis Long
William Lewis Long, 84, husband of Nancy Coke Long, of Garrard County, died Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Born Dec. 2, 1941, he was the son of the late William Samuel Long and Nellie Rose Robinson Long Holderman.
He was a member of Gilberts Creek Baptist Church in Garrard County and worked as a crane operator for Armco Steel.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: four daughters, Lisa Long of Mercer County, Lou Ann Taylor of Mercer County, Bethany Meriwether of Frankfort and Linda Jo McKinley of Louisville; two bonus daughters, Tammy (Shane) Randolph of Hustonville and Margaret (David) Fralix of Clay County; two brothers, Kenneth Long and Steve (Sharon) Long, both of Mercer County; eight grandchildren; six bonus grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and eight bonus great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, John Pulliam III; one step grandson, Spencer Timberlake; one son-in-law, Barry Taylor and one sister-in-law, Sandy Long.
Funeral Service were held Monday, July 20, at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home, with Bro. Jerry Browning and Bro. John McDaniel officiating. Burial was at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dalton Meriwether, Isaiah Fralix, Camerson Honaker, Jordan Elliott, Jacob Randolph, Neale Behm, Chris Burner and Dustin Butner.
