Joan Banks Spaulding

Joan Banks Spaulding, 83, wife of Robert “Bob” Spaulding, of Harrodsburg, died Monday, July 20, 2026.

Born Sept. 15, 1942, in Prestonsburg, she was the daughter of the late Sol and Verdie (Banks) Sammons.

She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and a homemaker. 

Survivors, in addition to  her husband, include: two daughters: Debbie Royalty and Mona Lisa Lambert of Harrodsburg; one son, Robert David Spaulding of Harrodsburg; one sister, June Lowe; one step brother, Sol Sammons Jr.; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, JR Banks; one step brother, Hugh Sammons and one son-in-law, David Royalty.

Funeral services are today, Thursday July 23, at 12 p.m., at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with John Kesel Officiating.

Visitation 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral chapel.
