Friday Night On Main returns to Olde Town Park with live music by Katie Souder and Ethan Blackburn and Men of a Certain Age on Friday May 8, starting at 6 p.m. The event is organized by the Harrodsburg-Mercer County Tourist Commission and sponsored by Community Trust bank. Vendors include Biscuit’s BBQ and Catering, Cardira Colombian Food, the Scoop, Old Style Kettle Korn, Life’s Lemons and Lemons Mill Brewery.

• Baby Tumble Time at Mercer County Public Library (109 West Lexington Street). For children aged 6 months to 18 months to develop their large motor skills, gain social interactions and enhance their cognitive development. • Presentation: Justice John Marshall Harlan—The Great Dissenter 1833-1911 at the Harrodsburg Historical Society (221 South Chiles Street). Dr. Edward B. Smith brings U.S. Supreme Court, Justice John Marshall Harlan back to life in this Kentucky Humanities Chautaqua Performance. Born in Boyle County to a prominent slaveholding family, and once a slaveholder himself, Harlan fought for the Union during the Civil War and advocated for equal rights during his 33 years as a justice.
