Winter seems to be almost over and it’s finally time to do what Mercer County loves best: spend the summer on Herrington Lake. The local marinas are ready for another season. In addition to boat ramps, many offer dine-in and carry-out dining as well as live entertainment. Here’s a rundown on what local marinas have to offer, courtesy of herringtonlakeky.com.

But first, a quick reminder: the biggest fireworks show in Mercer County, Lights Over Herrington, starts at dusk at the Kennedy Mill Bridge on Saturday, July 4. • Bryant’s Camp (766 Bryant’s Camp Road, Lancaster). Boat ramp, indoor boat storage at Herrington Boat Storage, live bait. Currently renovating cabins and restaurant but ramp is open—including for fishing tournaments—and live bait available. • Chimney Rock Marina and Restaurant (250 Chimney Rock Road, Harrodsburg). Gas, dine-in/out restaurant, boat slip rentals, boat rentals, bait and boat launch. Restaurant hours: Fridays from 4 to 9 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Full time hours starting in June. • Gwinn Island Resort and Marina (1200 Gwinn Island Road, Danville). Ramp only. Contact: 859-236-4286.

• Herrington Lake Marina (136 South Homestead Lane, Lancaster). Idler;s Cover Restaurant, boat slips and boat rental Restaurant hours: Friday from 4 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday. • Kamp Kennedy Marina, Restaurant and Campground (4646 Kennedy Bridge Road, Lancaster). Gas, Oar House Restaurant, shop, rental venue, boat slips, and campsites nightly and long-term RV. • Pandora Marina (125 Pandora Drive, Harrodsburg). Gas, restaurant (dine-in and carryout), boat and slip rentals, boat launch. Open daily Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Contact: 859-748-9121 or Facebook @Pandora Marina.

• Royalty’s Marina (2095 Normans Camp Road, Harrodsburg). Gas, snacks, boat rentals. New owner Scotty and Laura Williams say their hours after Memorial Day will be Fridays from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with more hours possible as needed.  They also offer breakfast, lunch and dinner,  gas, retail, live bait, short-term cabins and pontoon rental (possibly fishing boat later this summer). • Sunset Marina and Resort (325 Sunset Lodge Road, Lancaster). Gas, dining, shop, snacks, camping, boat slip rental, boat rental, floating cabin rental, cottage rentals. Check weekend schedule for lakeside karaoke. Restaurant hours: Friday from 4 to 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. Additional days start Friday, May 22.
