Bulldogs Shorthanded At Patriot Games

The Burgin Bulldogs track and field team participated in the Lincoln County Patriots Games on Saturday, March 28.
Multiple seniors were unable to make the meet because of their senior trip, leaving Burgin with nine girls and six boys.
The boys’ team placed ninth, and the girls’ came in tenth.
The Burgin girls team’s best performance was from senior Raegan Taylor, who placed second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.59 seconds. Sophomore Maddie Peavler placed ninth out of 20 participants in shot put with a throw of 26-02. The girls’ 4×200 meter relay team, which included R. Taylor, Emma Sexton, Camry Taylor and Megan Darland placed fifth with a time of 2:09.
Senior Douglas McCoy finished 12th in the discus throw with a distance of 82-10 for the Bulldogs boys team. The relay team of Eastin Hopkins, Douglas McCoy, Aidan Phillips and Carter Myrhe placed 5th in the 4×100-meter dash and sixth in the 4×200-meter dash.
Burgin’s next meet is the Boyle All Comers on Thursday, April 2, at 5:30 p.m.
