Commission Approves Street Closings For Sept. 21 Homecoming Parade

EDIT: Mercer County Senior High School has canceled the homecoming parade.

The Harrodsburg City Commission has approved street closures for the Mercer County Senior High School homecoming parade on Sunday, Sept. 21.

The parade will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21, starting at 2 p.m. The parade will begin at Harrodsburg High School and march down Lexington Street, turning onto Main Street to East Office Street.

Marchers will continue down Greenville Street to Lexington Street and back to the high school. The street closures will begin at 1:45 p.m. while the parade will start at 2 p.m.

Organizers have received state approval to close US 68, which is a state road.

At the Harrodsburg City Commission’s regular meeting on Monday, Sept. 8, Mayor Bob Williams said the closures should not impact churches in the area.
