28th Annual Shaker Village Craft Fair Starts Saturday, Aug. 2

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill will hold their 28th annual Craft Fair on Saturday, Aug. 2, and Sunday, Aug. 3. As one of Kentucky’s premier craft events, sponsored by Becky Reinhold of Bluegrass Sotheby’s, the Craft Fair attracts the elite among regional artisans as well as up-and-coming new artists.
Each day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. visitors can shop for Shaker reproductions and an assortment of handcrafted items including pottery, jewelry, apothecary, glassware, fiber art, basketry, leather goods, botanical design, watercolors and more.
Local artisans include Andy Ashton, Woodwerks by Keith Chambers, woodworker Bob Cairns, Hannah Baker of Three Lick Pottery, Mary Clare Carr of Tiny Treehouse Ceramics, Deborah Bonanno Slaninka of Black Watch Alpacas, mixed media by Patrick Horn of Top Shelf Products, John C. Sparks of Bluegrass Leather Traditions.
Food trucks include Captain Franks, Hogtown BBQ, Cattleman’s, Mimi’s Mac Shack, Travelin Tom’s Coffee, Kettle Corn and Mini Donuts, Casa Grande, Gotchee Habachi and Tallulah Farm Ice Cream.
The fair runs through the heart of the Village along the historic turnpike and features more than 90 vendor booths. Guests can stop by the Shaker Village Bar to grab a cool drink or cocktail and pick up lunch or snacks from various food trucks. Live music performances will be showcased throughout the day. Other activities include a make and take candle dipping demonstration, historic tours, exhibits and giveaways.
General Admission is discounted for the Craft Fair at $12 for ages 13 and above, $5 for ages 6-12, and free for children five and under and annual passholders. Seniors ages 62 and up, first responders, active and veteran military receive a reduced admission rate of $10.
