Harrodsburg Rotary Club Pancake Day is coming up at the Mercer County Cooperative Extension Office (1007 Lexington Road) on Friday, February 7 from 6am-6pm. This is a their annual fund-raiser, with endless stacks of pancakes served with sausage, eggs and choice of milk or juice Delivery is available.

Winter Funfest at Devine’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch (623 Talmage-Mayo Road) runs through Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025. Hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 9 p.m. The farm will be closed if weather conditions are not suitable for snow making (need sustained temps below 26 degrees) or if there has not been enough natural snowfall. • Presentation: “A Teacher’s Story: The Life And Times of Ms. Clara B. Clelland” at the Mercer County Public Library (109 West Lexington Street) Almetra Taylor of the Harrodsburg-Mercer County African American Historical Society presents this information program for Black History Month. • Basic Broomology: Introduction to Hand-Tied Brooms at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill (3501 Lexington Road). Return to the folk art of “broomology,” making hand-tied brooms without special machinery or equipment. Using hemp cord and natural broomcorn, the same materials once used by the Shakers, make several different kinds of basic brooms, including whisk broom, pot scrubber, and cobwebber broom with wooden handle. No experience necessary. Workshop is for ages 14 and up. All minors must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. Program fee includes one complimentary admission and one voucher for 20 percent off dining (excluding alcoholic beverages). Dining reservations recommended. • Black History Gala at the Stable at the Mercer County Fairgrounds (560 Linden Avenue). The Harrodsburg-Mercer County African American Historical Society hosts the gala, which starts at 6 p.m. with dinner catered by Jerrica Spencer. Lucian Yates III will be the keynote speaker. There will also be entertainment, including light jazz during dinner and music after Yates’ speech by DJ Michael Hughes.
