After more than a week of celebrations—including a parade, nights of live music, the premiere of a new documentary, live drama and educational presentations—a group of officials and volunteers gathered at Old Fort Harrod State Park on Sunday, June 16, for some well-deserved birthday cake.
Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman noted that other communities in Kentucky will be holding sestercentennial celebrations.
“There probably won’t be a better one,” Coleman said. She hoped Harrodsburg’s 250th Celebration would be a blueprint for other events.
