Kendyl and Friends Playground Ribbon Cutting On May 22

A project over a year in the making is finally complete. Kendyl and Friends Playground will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new handicap-accessible playground on Monday, May 22, at 10 a.m.

“A year ago this playground was a dream. And now it is a reality,” said Crimson Claycomb, who spearheaded the fundraising efforts for the playground. Through a variety of events and numerous donations of time and money, the Mercer County community came together to raise over $250,000 to bring the playground to fruition.

“I cannot wait to see the smiles on their faces and the hear the laughter this playground will bring,” Claycomb said.

All are invited to attend, especially those with special needs. The event will be open from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Anderson-Dean Park behind the Hitachi Shelter.

The playground features activities for a variety of disabilities. The ramps are also wide enough for wheelchair access.
