Margie Bowley

Margie Marie Bowley, 89, wife of David Bowley, of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, July 12, 2023, in Harrodsburg. Born July 27, 1933, in Mercer County she was the daughter of the late Dave and Emma Barr Semonis. She was a retired Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center LPN and a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church.  She enjoyed yard work, bowling, fishing, shopping, sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, especially Greyson.  Mrs. Bowley was also an avid fan of the UK Wildcats football and basketball teams. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include:  three daughters, Janet Hall; Phyllis (David) Darnall and Jackie (Patrick) Magnatta all of Harrodsburg; two step sons,  Mike Bowley of Middletown, Ohio and Greg Bowley of Albany; five grandchildren, Mark Steele, Stacy Ferne, Chris Hall, Jason Doughty and Tiffany Doughty; four step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.  She is also survived by her dog, Pepper and her best friend, Patsy Maddox. She was preceded in death by three brothers,  Garnett Semonis, William Semonis and Dudley Semonis; five sisters,  Leona Combs, Addie Neeley, Mary Wells, Blanche Hanley and Jewell Semonis and one great-great-granddaughter,  Rowyn Steele. Private graveside services will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery with Terry Morrison officiating. Pallbearers will be David Darnall, Patrick Magnatta, Mark Steele, Chris Hall, Jason Doughty and Brent Ferne. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercer County Animal Shelter, 896 Moberly Road, Harrodsburg, KY  40330. Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
