The Burgin Bulldogs hosted the Marion County Knights Thursday, June 15, at Jack Coleman Sr. Gymnasium. This was Burgin’s first summer ball game of the year. Summer ball gives the opportunity for players to get in the gym in the off-season and the lets the coach see what the incoming freshman have to offer. The game was a struggle for the Bulldogs, losing 59-33, but Head Coach Todd Claunch has plenty of preseason to get his Bulldogs ready.
The Bulldogs started the game off slowly, turning the ball over two times in the first minute and struggling to get points on the board. The Knights scored three straight baskets and forced the Bulldogs to call a time-out with 16:39 left in the first half.
Burgin finally got on the board with Jake Taylor, hitting two free throws to make the score 8-2 with 15:22.
