The sensational senior southpaw for the Titans baseball team, Evan Hart, picked up yet another award this week, as he was named the Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year. This honor comes just days after Hart was selected as the 12th Region Pitcher of the Year, and 12th Region Player of the Year. As his high school career comes to a close, Hart continues to be recognized for his outstanding achievements as a Titan.

According to Gatorade’s website (Gatorade.com), “the Gatorade State Player of the Year award winners are evaluated and selected on the basis of three criteria: athletic excellence, academic achievement and exemplary character.” As a Mercer County student athlete, Hart has been charged to embrace all three of these characteristics, a task at which he has completed wholeheartedly. Being named the Gatorade Player of the Year, Hart is being recognized as achieving in those three areas at a higher level than any other high school player in the state of Kentucky.
