Charles Johnstone

Charles Johnstone, 84, husband of Ernestine Johnstone, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, May 14, 2023, in Danville. Born Aug. 18, 1938, in Rutherford, Tenn., he was the son of the late Haywood and Frances Johnstone. He was a 1957 graduate of Rutherford High School and was an insurance salesman and stock broker, farmed in his retirement and was also a member of Mt. Pleasant Church. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: one son, Sonny (Ellen) Johnstone, of Charleston, West Virginia; one daughter, Beth Johnston, Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina; one step son, Jeff Scott of Danville; one step daughter, Jenny (Brian Kindel) Scott of Richmond; four grandchildren and three step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Stratton Johnstone and one daughter, Robin Johnstone.
