With room made in the trophy case, ring sizes taken and t-shirts being printed, the Mercer County track and field  program is still celebrating their two state class 2A state championships from June 3. The girls team racked up a ridiculous 81.5 points with only seven Titans competing to win handily and the boys team defended their title with a 94 point performance.

The six time champs continued to add to the dynasty with 15 selections to the 2022 Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Class 2A First Team All-State. With 62 total selections Mercer County make up nearly a third of the team. Paducah Tilghman and Highlands tied for the second most representatives with five each, followed by Thomas Nelson, Franklin and Boyle County who all had four each.

To qualify for the first team, an athlete must finish first or second in an event and third and fourth place finishes earned second team All-State honors.
