Joan Cooper

Joan (Vaught) (Coffman) Cooper, 88, of Lexington died Thursday, June 9, at her home. Born June 23, 1933, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Oliver Martin and Delores Georgia “Lois” (Grubbs) Vaught.  She was a 1951 graduate of Forkland High School worked in factories and retail and retired as a cashier from the Campbell House and was a member of Palomar Baptist Church in Lexington. Survivors include: two sons, Ralph G. Coffman Jr. and Nicholas Riffe Coffman both of Lexington; one daughter, Lana Jill Coffman of Lexington and one brother, Paul (Inez) Vaught of Somerset.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers Gene, Elwyn, and Jere Vaught, and one sister Helen Taylor.
