The second annual Heart of Kentucky Juneteenth Festival happens Friday, June 17, and Saturday, June 18, at West Lane Park. Also coming up this week: PlayThink Festival at Terrapin Hill Farms starts Wednesday, June 15; Harrodsburg celebrates Founders Day at Diamond Point Welcome Center on Thursday, June 16; Ragged Edge Community Theatre’s production of L. Frank Baum’s “The Wizard of Oz” kicks off a two week run on Friday, June 17; and the 14th Annual Settlement and Raid happens at Old Fort Harrod State Park on Saturday, June 18, and Sunday, June 19.

Becky Sauls of the Harrodsburg Historical Society sliced up the birthday cake for Harrodsburg, which celebrated its 247th birthday last year. This year’s celebration happens at Diamond Point Welcome Center starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 16.
