Nancy Kay Coogan, 65, of Wilmore, wife of James D. Coogan, died Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Baptist Health in Lexington. Born June 13, 1956, in Bryn Mawr, Penn., she was the daughter of the late John Gilbert and Patricia B. (Lasalle) Colgan. She was a graduate of Camden New Jersey High School, obtained her master’s degree in Sign Language Education from Eastern Kentucky University and the National Technological Institute for the Deaf (NTID), was a former KSD teacher in Danville, Jessamine County Schools and several other area school districts. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include; three daughters, Katherine (Hunter Johns) Rose Coogan of Lancaster, Carolyn Lily Coogan of Harrodsburg and Rebekah (Eric) Folsom of Wilmore; one sister, Patricia (Robert) Carver of Englewood, Fla; one brother, John (Kathy) Colgan of Gainesville, Ga; and five grandchildren.
