Michael Vandyke

Michael Edward VanDyke, 73, of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Baptist Health Lexington. Born Sept. 11, 1948, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Edward D. VanDyke and Bessie (Hines) VanDyke Henderson. He was a 1966 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, a US Army veteran, where he served in the Vietnam War and received a “Purple Heart,” a retired grounds keeper at Old Fort Harrod State Park and was a member of the St. Peter AME Church. Survivors include: one sister-in-law, Harrilyn VanDyke, of Harrodsburg; one nephew, Phillip L. VanDyke, of Harrodsburg; one aunt, Nicola Hines, of Harrodsburg and several cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother, Phillip Lamont VanDyke.
