The Christian Life Center has completed their move from their old location on Main Street to their new one 232 South College Street, right across the street from Lee’s Famous Recipe. Volunteers spent last Thursday and Friday moving everything from their old location to their new one.
It’s not their first move Since 1983, the non-denominational Christian organization has provided food and monetary assistance to those in need in the Harrodsburg community. They’ve moved several times over the years, from the Corral on U.S. 127 to two different locations on Main Street.
Bill Huston, the chairman of the Christian Life Center’s board of directors, said the new location offers more space for storage, inventory and parking.
Also everything will be on one level, which is important for the more than 60 volunteers who work at the Life Center, many of them elderly. Contractors have also installing a handicapped accessible ramp as well as a patio.
But one of the biggest advantages of the new location over the Main Street store is parking. The new site has up to 20 parking spots.
The Christian Life Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Donations are accepted and food and bill assistance are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
