Lady Titans Advance To 46th District Championship Game

The first round playoff game between Mercer and Burgin got a little physical when Burgin’s Brynn Simpwon went to block a layup by Titan Anna Kate Drakeford.

The Mercer County Lady Titans (21-7) started their postseason with a lopsided 71-26 victory over the Burgin Lady Bulldogs (8-21) on Monday, Feb. 21.
All 12 Titans appeared on the scorecard, Hope Lanham leading the team with 14 points. Ellie Jenkin scored led the Bulldogs with nine points, all from behind the arc.
The game started with Teigh Yeast hitting a three-pointer, followed by a Lindsay Jessie getting a layup off a steal from Anna Kate Drakeford, putting the Titans up, 5-0.
Teigh Yeast added two more off another steal and Timberlynn Yeast had her first basket with a layup and one, putting the Titans up 11-0.
