A Lexington man has been indicted on charges including strangulation and burglary.
Chadwick Richards, 50, of 196 Lucille Drive, Lexington, was indicted last week in connection to an incident that happened here in Mercer County on Sept. 7, 2021.
On that date, the victim reported being awakened at 3 a.m. by the sound of the garage door opening. Richards had taken a garage door opener from the home on July 18, according to the victim.
Richards, who had been trespassed from the residence and had an active domestic violence order against him, grabbed the victim’s phone and “held her against her will for over an hour,” according to the criminal complaint.
Richards pushed the victim to the ground, grabbing her hair, holding her throat and covering her mouth where she could not breathe, according to the criminal complaint….
