Park Still Hopes To Open Pool

While the Anderson-Dean Community Park board struggles to get American Leak Protection back to do their final inspection, they still plan on opening the pool even if it’s just for private parties.

“I’m afraid if we don’t open it where we haven’t opened it in two years, we are going to have more problems next year,” said Joni Horn, a park board member.

Since school will resume in a few weeks, Horn suggested renting out the pool to private parties to recoup some of the cost of filling the pool. The motion passed unanimously.

Chairman Mike Steele said the board needed to establish standards on terms and lengths for agreements and contracts they sign with vendors and advertisers moving forward. Steele brought up the billboard placed on park property that had caused some issues with community members. He said the naming rights to the fields, along with present advertising banners, all need to be looked into to see if they can generate new income.
