Harrodsburg’s 247th birthday is coming up and the Harrodsburg-Mercer County Tourist Commission is inviting the public to celebrate Founder’s Day at Diamond Point Welcome Center (488 Price Avenue) on Wednesday, June 16, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
“As we quickly approach the 250th anniversary celebration of Harrodsburg in 2024, we know it is important to go ahead and get momentum behind this momentous occasion,” said Daarik Gray, executive director of the tourist commission. “Typically this event is held at Old Fort Harrod State Park, but with the restrictions that were in place on state parks in May, we reached out to David Coleman, park manager, and he graciously let us host it this year.”
In addition to the usual birthday cake the event will include music, food and more.
“We will have several guest speakers, music and Triple J&C will be set up selling food as well. We encourage everyone in the community to come out, grab lunch and enjoy some music and speakers from some of our leaders in Mercer County and throughout the state.”
