PAULA GARCIA

Paula Carmichael Garcia died Wednesday, May 19, 2021, into the loving arms of Jesus just three days shy of her 93rd birthday, due to complications from a stroke.

Paula was born May 22, 1928, in Burgin, and was the daughter of Jake and Helen (Smith) Carmichael.

She married Tony Garcia in 1948 and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2016. Although she had lived most of her adult life in the Cincinnati area, her heart never left Kentucky.

In Paula’s younger years, she catered themed parties at the Kenwood Country Club, where her husband was the bar manager. She was an excellent cook and butter cookie baker. In recent years, she found lots of enjoyment looking through old family photo albums reminiscing about the good old days and dreaming of one day going to Scotland. Paula loved President Donald Trump, going shopping and telling everyone her infamous “when I was 6-years-old” hot toddy recipe story.
