The Harrodsburg Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) annual memorial day Poppy Sale will be set up in front of Bluegrass Chriopractic on Saturday, May 29, from 8 a.m. to noon.
The VFW building is in desperate need of repair and member Jo Lynn Pike has been holding online sales, rummage sales and online auctions since the fall of 2020 to raise funds.
“Our only income comes from donations for not only our building but also for our programs,” said Pike. “We were unable to hold our poppy fundraisers last year due to Covid-19 and this year our largest spot for sales has told us we are not allowed to set up.”
Despite the set backs Pike has found a way to make lemonade out of her lemons.
Saturday, Beez Street Eats will be set up with us as well,” said Pike. “There will also be Poppy Sales at the four-way stop in Burgin.”
