Harold Tharpe

Harold “David” Tharpe, 60, went home to be with the Lord March 1, 2021. 

He was the husband of Melissa “Missy” Tharpe for over 41 years. 

David was born in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Jesse Tharpe and Edith(Jim) Bristo. 

He was Crew Chief Land Surveyor at EA Partners where he loved his job for the last 31 years. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. 

David is survived by his daughter Ashley(Drew) Hammond. Two sisters Ruthy Willis and the late Jay Willis and Alena(Rod) Lewis. His three nephews Phillip(Tammy) Pittman, Mike Caudill, and Rocky(Sharlene) South.

And his dearest friends Becky Huffman and the late David Huffman. He adored being Pappaw to Payton and Addi Hammond, he was also adored by many family members and friends. 

David was a hard worker and great provider for his family. He loved big, and his smile and laughter was contagious. His bear hugs will be missed by many.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 8, at Heritage Baptist Church, in Lexington. Burial was in Lexington Cemetery.

Contributions can be made to Heritage Baptist Church children’s ministry.

Pallbearers were Phillip Pittman, Mike Caudill, Rocky South, Glenn Crawford, Shannon Poynter, Vince Gross, Matthew Haney, Marc Wirtzberger.

Honorary pallbearers were Matthew Huffman, Paul Goss and Leslie Ward.

Kerr Brothers is in charge of arrangements.
