This weekend, a television show will revisit an infamous interstate killing with a Harrodsburg connection.

On Sunday, Dec. 13, the true crime television series “Snapped” will focus on the 2015 death of Doug Bailey, a truck driver from Wisconsin. Bailey was killed by his girlfriend, Rose Marie Kuehni, at his home in Prescott, Wisconsin, on Nov. 22, 2015. Bailey’s remains would be discovered that December in Pineville, Kentucky. Bailey had been left there by Clarence M. Hicks of Harrodsburg, who also had a relationship with Kuehni.

In 2016, a jury acquitted Kuehni of 1st-degree murder and found her guilty for a less severe charge of hiding the body. She was sentenced to 10 years probation with the credit for time served.

Hicks was sentenced to three years on one count of hiding a corpse after entering an Alford plea. An Alford plea precludes defendants from admitting guilt, though they acknowledge there would be enough evidence for a jury to render a guilty verdict at trial. He was released after serving a year and a half.

“He was the only one who served time and he didn’t pull the trigger,” said Sheila Dockery.

Dockery is Bailey’s sister. She believes her brother did not receive justice. Kuehni claimed Bailey abused her in her trial, where their relationship was compared to the Dixie Chicks’ song “Where’s Earl?”

At her trial, Kuehni claimed that Bailey was charging at her. Dockery believes her brother was already unconscious when he was shot twice with a .20-gauge shotgun on Nov. 22, 2015.

Also this is my uncle Clarence and I don’t understand why he got more time than the girl that did the shooting.

Doug is my cousin, That woman should have gotten the death penalty for killing him. Also the man who helped her hide his body should still be in prison. There was no justice served, for Doug

I agree!! What kind of justice system is that ?? I was hoping to see justice serve for his family. So sorry for you all !

Her attorney, the District Attorney, the defendant Rose, as well as her mother, were all friends!! The trial should’ve been conducted outside of their cozy little world! My name is Cheri Schmidt, Doug Bailey’s sister! At one point in the trial the judge covered his microphone, leaned over and asked Rose if it was alright with her to call a witness for the prosecution!!! REALLY????

That is awful ! Wow !! So she is just walking freely without a care in the world after murdering him. Wow that makes me so sick. They literally let her get away with murder. I am truly so sorry for you and your family. Wish that there was a lot more done. If you take a life, I think it’s only right you give your own life (meaning a life sentence)

Doug is my baby brother. We don’t know why Clarence received more time. But we definitely feel he didn’t serve near enough time. He was in on the planning in on the planning. She was family friends of the judge and her lawyer. We are sure she used him but that doesn’t excuse his part. We won’t stop until more has been done about that murderer.

These two are pure evil Monsters and both of them should be in prison for life, she shot him in the back put his body in a box in her shed for 4 days then on Thanksgiving morning she put his body in his truck and drove his body in a box to Illinois, his home town, where her lover Clarence Hicks drove from Kentucky to Illinois on Thanksgiving to pick up Doug Bailey’s body and drove him to Pineville Kentucky to a remote mountain side and threw his body down the mountain to never be found!!

He didn’t deserve what he got. She coud have just left . no excuse why shes not being punished more. I kinda like Doug. He was very handsome. He needed to be with a woman that wouldn’t have lied about being married. It seems that he got with the wrong woman. You can be mad but you don’t have to kill. Id beat the hell out of that ho. I want 5 minutes alone with her. He deserved real love . the fact that they weren’t married should have made it easier for her to just walk away. Shes a damn tramp.
