Michael Heathman

Michael Jay Heathman, age 62, of Harrodsburg, husband of Pamela Carey Heathman, died Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Sycamore Medical Center in Miamisburg, OH.

Born August 12, 1955 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late William “Bud” and Billie Duncan Heathman.

He was a 1973 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, earned a BA Degree in Music from Belmont University in Nashville and a BA Degree in Business at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA and also attended Eastern Kentucky University and University of Kentucky and was a member of the Harrodsburg Lions Club.

He was a sales representative for Kentucky Uniforms in Lexington, however his passion was Music (playing the bass guitar) and he had the privilege of playing with numerous bands over the years; playing R&B, Jazz, Gospel, Rock & Roll, Country and The Blues. Mike was a former studio musician in Nashville, TN where he played for several well-known artists including Pat Boone, Ray Stevens, Johnny Paycheck, Olivia Newton John, and Ronnie Law. Mike also taught private music lessons, was a former member of the UK 101 Club, coached his son’s YMCA basketball, AAU and Junior Pro Basketball Teams. He was a member of his son’s high school football booster club and if he wasn’t coaching his son, he was always on the sideline rooting him on. He was an avid fan of college football and basketball. Mike was a member of the St. Philips Episcopal Church in Harrodsburg and attended Macedonia Baptist Church where he was a member of the band.
