Even on a night where the Burgin Lady Bulldogs (0-4) basketball team struggle, one thing is certain. Senior Summer Mullins can score in the paint. Although the Lady Bulldogs lost to the Frederick Fraize Lady Aces (0-6) by a final score of 50-18 on Saturday, Dec. 9, Mullins scored more than half of her team’s points, 11 to be exact.
Burgin Head Coach Chad Terrell talked about his team’s performance after the game.
“I was proud of our effort on the defensive end. We knew going into the game that we would be facing five quick guards all game long, but I feel defensively we did a nice job in the half court,” said Terrell. “Unforced turnovers, missed layups and free throws were what kept the game from being close. If we fix those two things, we are in the ball game.”
Lady Bulldogs scoring: Mullins 11, Stewart 3, Holton 2, Jenkins 2.
Lady Aces scoring: White 19, Weatherholt 13, Dupin 6, King 4, Nottingham 4, Thurman 4.
