Manhunt: Police Search for Escaped Northpoint Inmate

Kentucky State Police are hunting for an inmate who escaped Northpoint Training Center in Burgin on Thursday.

Thomas Lee Meeks, 39, of Richmond, walked away from the medium-security institution located sometime overnight, authorities say.

He is described as a white male standing five-feet 10-inches tall and weighing around 140 poounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with any information is asked to call local law enforcement or KSP Post 7 at 859-623-2404.

In 2011, Meeks was convicted of three counts of 2nd-degree burglary, one count of theft by unlawful taking over $500 and another count of theft by unlawful taking of a firearm in Garrard and Madison Counties. He would have been eligible for parole in March 2018.

Meeks was still on the lose on Sunday, according to the Kentucky State Police.

The investigation is being conducted by KSP Trooper Hunter Hensley.
