The Burgin Bulldogs season ended by a final score of 12-0 on Tuesday night at the hands of the number one seed in the 46th district, the West Jessamine Colts (14-13-1).
Senior Hunter Sallee took the loss for the Bulldogs pitching one-third of an inning, giving up three runs on one hit, one walk and no strikeouts.
Head coach Jeremy Noel shared his thoughts after the game. “We came out hitting the ball, but they were going right to them,” said Noel. “West is a great team and you can’t afford to make errors against them.
Junior Allen Whitaker recorded the only hit for the Burgin in the first inning, but the Bulldogs were not able to make anything of it.
Luke Gibbins earned the win for West Jessamine pitching two innings, allowing no runs on one hit, no walks and three strikeouts.
