Hellmig Faces More Charges For Old Fort Harrod Break-in

Brandon Hellmig, 19, of 2380 Oregon Road, Salvisa, was indicted for two more counts stemming from the break-in at Old Fort Harrod State Park earlier this year.

Hellmig was charged with receiving a stolen firearm, a class D felony, and receiving stolen property, a class A misdemeanor. Both offenses occurred on Feb. 8. Hellmig’s bail was set at $5,000.

Patrolman Ryan Evans (Harrodsburg Police Department) testified.

Including Hellmig, 10 people were indicted last week by the Mercer County Grand Jury on charges including identity theft, drugs and failure to register as a sex offender.
