Trenton Easterling has been ruled competent to stand trial for the murder of Tristan Cole.
District Court Judge Darren Peckler ruled that Easterling is competent and criminally responsible for the murder and robbery of Tristan Cole.
The hearing, held in Peckler’s chambers at the Mercer County Judicial Complex, was conducted over the phone.
According to Peckler’s notes, Easterling has a full scale IQ of 114. The defendant showed no signs of delusions or hallucinations and was able to assist his court-appointed counsel, Public Advocate Stacy E. Coontz, in his defense.
