JAMES “BUDDY” LEWIS

James “Buddy” R. Lewis, 81, passed away at home after a valiant fight with Cancer surrounded by his family on Tuesday Nov. 8, 2016.

Services for Buddy will be held at Alexander Royalty Funeral Home in Harrodsburg, KY this Friday November 11, 2016 at 2 p.m.and a reception will be held afterwards at The Carpenters Christian Church on Harrodsburg Bypass.

The family will receive friends and family on Thursday November 10 at Alexander Royalty Funeral Home in Harrodsburg between 5 – 8 p.m.

Buddy was born July 11, 1935, in Nelson County, KY. To the late James B. and Mary Lou Lewis. Buddy is survived by his loving wife Jean of 59 years, his son Billy and wife Edie Lewis, daughters, Lisa and husband Dallas Martin, Kaye and husband Jim Hobbs, five grandchildren Brad Lewis, Lauren Huninik, Brock Deatherage, Bethany Deatherage, Bryana Deatherage, James Flora, Stephanie Harris, Susan Hicky and nine great grandchildren. He is veteran of the U.S. Airforce serving during the Korean war and he is a retired sheet metal worker for 39 years.

Buddy loved the Lord with all his heart and is now at peace with his savior Jesus.  His passion and love on this earth was his family.  His spirit will endure forever passed down in the hearts of his family and friends that he touched throughout his life of selfless giving. Buddy truly gave unconditional Love which can be attested to by his family. His love and strength helped mold and strengthen everyone in his family and was a shining example of a loving and dedicated husband.  Although the angels rejoice at his coming home all who knew him will miss him dearly.
