Seniors earn National Merit Honors

Two local seniors, Mary Joyce and Nick McClain, have been honored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
The NMSC named Mary Joyce as a commended student for 2017. Only 34,000 students in the entire country are given this honor. Commended students place among the top five percent of the students who entered.
“I had heard about it before because my brother was actually a finalist, so I thought I might as well try,” Joyce said.
