Campbellsville University held a nice ceremony on Monday for the grand opening of the Michael and Carol Conover Education Center. U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell spoke and dignitaries cut the red ribbon.

But Campbellsville President Dr. Michael V. Carter told the audience the really important ceremony happened on Sept. 27.

That’s when Cassidy Neeley, the first graduate from the Mercer County Adult Education Program since they opened their office at the Conover Center, registered for Campbellsville’s cosmetology program after getting her GED.

“That’s our vision becoming reality,” Carter said. “It’s not just about bricks and mortar and the beautiful interior. It’s about changing lives.”
