Burgin Police Chief Seeks To Return To Work

Jim Caldwell walked into the Burgin City Hall, tossed his badge onto the table—the one he’s carried for 21 years—and asked the city commission if they still wanted him to carry it.
“Do you want me to pick it up or leave it here?” Caldwell said.
Caldwell said he hasn’t been Burgin’s police chief for a while. He said the city took the police cruiser from his yard, cleaned out his desk, changed the locks on city hall and stopped his paychecks.
