For most little league baseball players playing against the best competition at the highest level is merely a dream. For two Mercer County residents it became a reality.

Brayson Claunch and Evan Hart recently had the opportunity to compete for the All-American Baseball Team in the Baseball Youth All-Star Challenge in Branson, Mo.

After competing in the Baseball Youth All-American Games in Westfield, Ind., Claunch and Hart were selected to compete in Branson with some of the top talent in the country at Ballparks of America.

“There were kids from Kentucky, Virginia, California, Colorado and more,” said Claunch, who is in fifth grade at Mercer County Intermediate School.

After arriving at the All-Star Challenge, players were divided into four teams. Luckily for Claunch and Hart, they were put on the same team.
