High school sports are much faster paced today. The level of competition—thanks to A.A.U. and Little League—is much higher. The high school athletes of today are “multifaceted athletes,” Marianne Davis said.
It’s not just how they play the game, it’s how people experience the game, too. Many statisticians today use Gamechanger, a mobile application that delivers scores, statistics, streaming video and recaps to a persons phone. Fans hardly even have to watch a game to follow along.
But Davis still does it the old fashioned way, with pen and paper.
