The old Harrodsburg High School building, which is currently being used by the Mercer County Board of Education, was bought by Keith Currens in February.

Recently, the Mercer County Board of Education announced that it had sold the old Harrodsburg school building to Keith Currens. The building sits mostly abandoned today and many are worried about the future of the property.

Currens, a 1983 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, has made one thing clear concerning the building: it will not be torn down. This is the main reason he bought it when he heard the board was looking to sell it.

“I think there’s still life to it,” Currens said. “I’d like to see it be used somehow for the city.”
