Honoring Coach Johnson

A banquet will honor legendary Harrodsburg High School Coach Alvis Johnson, starting promptly at 6:34 p.m. on Friday, April 15.

The time was specifically chosen to honor Johnson, said Terry Yeast, assistant principal and track coach at Mercer County Senior High School. Yeast, who played for Johnson, said the coach never chose to go anywhere on the hour. “He always picked odd times like 6:37 and 7:03 because he thought the kids would remember it,” Yeast said.
