Burgin students lost a day of spring break to snow. Last week, the Burgin Board of Education amended the school calendar to make up for days lost to snow. The school’s two-week spring break will start on Tuesday, March 29, instead of Monday, March 28, as originally scheduled.

Time was on board members’ minds. They invited public comments to changing their meeting time from 7 p.m. and discussed the need for early education. Burgin would like to do more to educate children up to age 5  than the Cradle School they already sponsor.

“If we’re going to get our students ready for the workforce, we need to start early,” said Burgin Superintendent Martha Collier.
