Dixie Heights Wins Overtime Thriller Over Boyd County

The Dixie Heights Colonels outlasted the Boyd County Lions 84-79 in overtime in the consolation round of the Farmers National Bank Clash of the Titans.

After falling behind 20-11 at the end of the first quarter, Boyd County bounced back and held a 34-30 lead at halftime. They extended their lead to eight, 55-47, by the end of the third quarter.

Dixie Heights quickly came back to tie things in the fourth quarter and a shot at the buzzer by Boyd County’s Bobby Anderson, who finished with 24 points, bounced out.

The Colonels built a quick lead in the overtime period and never looked back.

Boyd County was led in scoring by Hunter Kenser with 30 points. Reed Bradfield had 20 for the victorious Colonels.
