Bumps, bruises, broken bones and torn ligaments are just a few things that Shelby Burchett, Sarah Duffy, Joseph Humphrey, Leslie Sallee and Chris Wagoner have experienced in their rodeo careers. But they say all of those injuries are well worth the reward they get when they saddle up on their bull or horse.
The risks they have taken have also paid off as they will all head to the 67th Annual National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) July 12-18, in Rock Springs, Wyo.
Duffy will compete in the pole bending competition, Humphrey will compete in the bull riding competition, Sallee will compete in the barrel racing competition, Wagoner will compete in the marksmanship competition and Burchett will attend as a student delegate.
