The seniors on the Mercer County baseball team went out in a big way Thursday night as they led the Titans to a 13-4 victory over the Pulaski County Maroons on senior night.
The teams’ four seniors, Colton Brown, Austin Cocanougher, Layne Peavler and Andrew Yates went a combined 7-12 at the plate, with three homeruns, six RBIs, six runs scored and three stolen bases. Cocanougher also pitched two scoreless innings in relief, allowing no hits and striking out three batters.
Pulaski County opened the game looking like they were going to spoil the party as they scored two runs in the top of the first inning.
Mercer responded well.
The Titans scored eight runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back.
