Burgin Beats Frankfort; Falls to Lady Jaguars

Burgin softball player Elizabeth Adams pitched Tuesday in a game against East Jessamine. Adams just started playing again for the Lady Bulldogs after having to sit out due to an injury she suffered in a game on April 9.

   The Burgin Lady Bulldogs softball team beat the Frankfort Lady Panthers, 13-5, Saturday afternoon, before falling to No. 18 East Jessamine, 21-0, Tuesday night.


The Lady Bulldogs took a 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Audrey Frederick, Makenzie Isaacs, Kelci Hammons, Hannah Downs and Allison Harlow scored for Burgin in the inning.

Burgin extended their lead, 7-0, in the top of the second inning before Frankfort got a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning.

The Lady Bulldogs led 10-5 after four innings and added one run in each of the final three innings to get the win, 13-5.
