Thompson and Bradshaw Bring Region Fishing Championship to Burgin

The Burgin High School fishing team didn’t have everything go according to plan Saturday afternoon as they competed in the KHSAA Region 2 Championship, but that didn’t stop some of them from reeling in a Region 2 title.
The Region 2 tournament was originally scheduled to be held at nearby Herrington Lake, but because of high water levels, the tournament was moved to Lake Cumberland. Even with the last minute change in location, two members of the Burgin fishing team were determined to bring home a title in the program’s first year as a KHSAA sponsored program.
